A tagline is a catchy phrase or slogan, like Coke’s “Open Happiness” or Apple’s “Think Different.” Recently, I’ve been reflecting on my personal brand, which feels particularly timely given my 15-year journey in the End User Computing (EUC) world.
For a brief period, I was even dubbed “Mr. View,” a nod to my expertise with VMware’s Horizon View. Just before transitioning to VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), I considered updating my moniker to “Mr. Cloud View,” a playful reference to Horizon Cloud.

With this in mind, I wondered what my tagline would be today. I consulted ChatGPT for ideas based on my updated bio. It suggested a few, but the standout was: “Linus Bourque: Mastering VMware, Mentoring Minds, and Crafting Cloud Magic – All While Conquering Worlds!” This resonated with me, reminiscent of my blog’s original tagline: “Learning How to Virtualize the World.”
To revisit the past, I turned to the Internet Archive and rediscovered my old blog. The experience was surreal, making me feel both nostalgic and invigorated. The original tagline was simple yet profound, and it still rings true today. In fact, it’s more relevant now than ever before.
Reflecting on the past decade, it’s astonishing how much has changed. The world of virtualization has evolved dramatically, yet my desire to learn has remained constant. The scope of my learning has broadened, and the technology continues to advance, offering endless opportunities for growth.
Ultimately, while the ChatGPT suggestion is appealing, I’m inclined to return to my original tagline. It captures the essence of my journey and my enduring passion for virtualization. It’s a reminder of where I started and a beacon for where I’m headed.
